Cadet Try Dive
Sandton Scuba & Swim’s RAID Cadet Try Dive program lets kids enjoy an underwater adventure on scuba in the confines of a swimming pool under the watchful eye and protection of a qualified RAID instructor.
TRY DIVE
Your Introduction into the World Underwater Experience you will never forget!
The Try Open Circuit Dive Experience will open the door to breathing underwater and sense exhilaration!
JUNIOR SCUBA DIVER
The RAID Junior Scuba Diver program was designed to accommodate those between the ages 10-14 who are short on time and can’t complete the full Junior Open Water 20 course.
SCUBA DIVER
The RAID Scuba Diver program was designed to accommodate those who are short on time and can’t complete the full Open Water 20 course.
JUNIOR OPENWATER
To train students that when evaluated by the RAID Instructor are deemed to have sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to dive with an adult buddy diver of at least the same level of certification or higher in Open Water conditions
OPENWATER 20
The Open Water Diver course is an entry-level certification course for new divers. This qualification entitles you to dive up to a depth of 20 metres.
RAIDaptive OPENWATER 20
The RAIDaptive program was designed to bring the sport of diving to persons with disabilities by adapting the RAID Open Water 20 course to the abilities demonstrated by the diver with disabilities.
EXPLORER 30
The RAID Explorer 30 course is an exciting, fun programme designed to increase your skills and understanding of the important core areas of diving. This course is largely practical so you have more time to enjoy your journey and practice the skills your Instructor will teach you.
ADVANCED 35
This highly sought after and quality course is designed to train persons with diving experience, in the safe use of SCUBA diving with no decompression, to a maximum depth of 35 metres.
DIVEMASTER
A RAID Divemaster is one of the most highly respected ratings in the dive community and the first Pro level within the RAID system. RAID Divemaster is a prerequisite to becoming a RAID Dive Instructor.
As a RAID Divemaster you can plan, organise and lead dives for certified divers.
MASTER RESCUE DIVER
In order to be a good diver, you first need to be able to look after yourself and then be able to help other if needed. The RAID Master Rescue Diver course is a must for all experienced divers, and in particular those who wish to take responsibility for the safety of other divers.

This Specialty is designed to extend your knowledge and skills of diving to allow you to dive on wrecks safely including the penetration of wrecks. It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse for your dive to reduce stress and confusion.
BOAT
his Specialty is designed to expand your knowledge of boats and diving from a boat..
This specialty can be run for any certified diver who has the equivalent of RAID Open Water 20.
ECOLOGICAL DIVER
RAID now has an Eco awareness manual that we call ECOLOGICAL. This is a fantastic manual and it can be used for divers and non-divers. There are 2 courses loaded into the system, one is for divers and one is for non-divers.
EQUIPMENT
FIRST AID
This qualification forms part of the RAID Master Rescue Diver program, but can also be taken as a stand-alone qualification. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of the European Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
COMPRESSOR OPERATOR
This RAID course is designed to teach persons the understanding and working knowledge about High pressure compressor units as well as how to use the unit for filling air tanks (compress air for breathing) in the high pressure ranges PN 200 and PN 300 bar.
DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE(DPV)
The thrill of speeding through the water behind a diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) is an experience that really gets your blood racing. Using a DPV provides divers both immense fun and the means to achieve goals that would be impossible without their use.
DRY SUIT
This programme covers all you need to know about drysuit diving and takes you through all the different aspects which are important for new and experienced divers.
NAVIGATION
This Speciality is designed to extend your knowledge and skills in the use of navigational tools and techniques for Sport Diving. It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse for your dive to reduce stress and confusion, allowing you to enhance your diving experience.
NIGHT AND LIMITED VISIBILITY
This Speciality is designed to extend your knowledge and skills in the use of navigational tools and techniques for Sport Diving. It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse for your dive to reduce stress and confusion, allowing you to enhance your diving experience.
NITROX
Do you want to extend your in-water dive time? Do you want to gain a better understanding of decompression and use a gas that will allow you to do that?
SIDEMOUNT
The RAID Sidemount Diver is a modern program designed to include all the current Sidemount procedures suitable for cave, technical and recreational dives.
SEARCH AND RECOVERY
This Specialty is designed to provide you with new skills and techniques to allow you to find lost objects underwater.
This specialty can be run for any certified diver who has the equivalent of RAID Open Water 20.
WRECK
This Specialty is designed to extend your knowledge and skills of diving to allow you to dive on wrecks safely without penetrating them. It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse for your dive to reduce stress and confusion, allowing you to enhance your diving experience.
SNORKELLING
Snorkeling is a great activity that can be done in almost any body of water. You can use rivers, lakes, estuaries and the ocean. Snorkeling is an easy activity that allows you to see many sea creatures, corals and aquatic mammals. Snorkeling is an activity that does not take too much energy to do.
Deep 40
This Specialty is designed to extend your knowledge and skills to allow you to dive to deeper depths safely. It develops the knowledge required to plan, prepare and analyse for your dive to reduce stress and confusion, allowing you to enhance your diving experience.
Rebreather Diving
POSEIDON SORT RECREATIONAL
The Mk6 or SE7EN STD (without manual inflation ) Discovery is designed for the sport recreational market to a maximum depth of 40m/130ft.
Tech Diving
DECO 40
Getting the ‘thumbs up’ sign is probably the worst signal any diver can receive since it signifies that the dive has ended. Extending time, and sometimes depth, in water is probably every divers desire.
DECO 50
Getting the ‘thumbs up’ sign is probably the worst signal any diver can receive since it signifies that the dive has ended. Extending time, and sometimes depth, in water is probably every divers desire. The thrill of pushing the envelope and becoming an explorer is what drives many to become divers, and the Deco 50 course forms the basis and essential skills and knowledge needed to become an explorer.
DECO 60
The DECO 60 course is a natural progression for anyone certified at the DECO 50 level and allows divers to use two optimised decompression gases to a maximum of 60 metres/200 feet. Decompression obligations are limited only by the amount of gas carried by the diver.
