These gentle giants, which can grow up to 12m in length, visit the bay between November and March. Swimming alongside these majestic creatures is a truly awe-inspiring experience. Their graceful presence, combined with their distinctive polka-dot patterned skin, creates an unforgettable encounter for divers.

Majestic Flying Giants (Manta Rays) As you explore the depths of Guinjata Bay, you’ll have the privilege of encountering graceful manta rays. With wingspans reaching up to 8m, these magnificent creatures glide effortlessly through the water. Often seen feeding on plankton, manta rays gracefully perform acrobatic maneuvers, captivating divers with their elegance.   1. By Air: The nearest international airport to Guinjata Bay is Inhambane Airport Several airlines operate regular flights to Inhambane, including LAM Mozambique Airlines and Airlink. From the airport, you can arrange for a transfer or hire a car to reach Guinjata Bay.
  2. By Road: If you prefer a scenic journey, you can also reach Guinjata Bay by road. The bay is located approximately 540 kilometers north of Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. You can either drive your own vehicle or hire a rental car from Maputo. The journey typically takes around 7-9 hours, depending on road conditions.
