RB Instructor Deco 50m /164ft

REBREATHER INSTRUCTOR DECO 50m / 164ft SPECIALITY

INTRODUCTION

 

This program qualifies the Sport Rebreather Instructor to teach divers to dive to 50m / 164ft and complete dives with mandatory decompression stop requirement for up to maximum of 30 minutes including the use of Helium gas to reduce narcosis (18/27).

 

This speciality is generic and may be applied to any rebreather which meets the requirements and any diver who meets the prerequisites.

 

THE PROGRAMME EMPLOYS THE FOLLOWING GASSES

Stage cylinder Open Circuit oxygen enriched gas (EANx / Nitrox) mixes from 21% to 

a maximum of 50% oxygen content.

Diluent gas must not have an oxygen content below 18%

A maximum of 27% Helium content

 

INSTRUCTOR PREREQUISITES

To be a minimum of 18 years old

To be certified diver for at least 12 months.

Certified RAID Rebreather Deco 50/164 diver or equivalent certification/s (of which at least 25 hours are between 35 - 50m/115-164 ft) and/or equivalent

Certified RAID Sport Rebreather Instructor 

Certified RAID Rebreather Speciality Instructor

Submit a current Rescue Breathing/CPR/BLS Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor certificate/s (DAN/equivalent). 

125 logged hours underwater using a rebreather of which 50 logged hours must be on the specific rebreather used during this course. These hours must be logged in your personal RAID Logbook.

Submit a dive medical passed by a certified dive doctor.

 

INSTRUCTOR CROSS OVER PREREQUISITES

To be a minimum of 18 years old

To be certified diver for at least 12 months.

Certified Renewed Deco 50/164 equivalent Instructor

Certified RAID Sport Rebreather Instructor

Certified RAID Rebreather Speciality Instructor

Submit a current Rescue Breathing/CPR/ BLS Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor certificate/s (DAN/equivalent). 

125 logged hours underwater using a rebreather of which 50 logged hours must be on the specific rebreather used during this course. These hours must be logged in your personal RAID Logbook.

Submit a dive medical passed by a certified dive doctor.

NOTE: The above does not guarantee acceptance by RAID who has the sole decision to accept or ask for further requirements to be met.

Dive Planning Assignments

Review the Guidelines for Decompression Procedures Speciality

Practical skills as detailed; confined water and open water sessions, totalling a minimum of 4 hours underwater

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

For this course you will be required to have use of the following:

 

1 x rebreather with the following requirements but not limited to:

 

RAID Registered Rebreather

Manual Oxygen addition valve - optional

Manual Diluent addition valve - optional

PpO2 Display

ADV with on/off switch -optional

Manufacturer's depth specifications/limitations are below the depth limit of this course

 

2 x single side sling cylinders

2 x first stage

2 x second stage with Octo hose

2 x SPG with short HP hose

2 x BCD/inflator LP hose

1 x Drysuit inflator hose if applicable interchangeable with BCD connection

1 x mixed gas rebreather dive computer

1 x dive timer or enriched air computer

1 x slate

2 x SMBs and reels

1 x knife

2 x dive masks

1 x torch/light/underwater lamp

1 x BCD/harness and wing with adequate lift capacity

1 x exposure suit as required - A Dry suit shall have interchangeable inflator system with BCD LP hose

 

CERTIFICATION 

All confined and open water skills have been acknowledged and accepted on-line through the RAID Web site by both the Instructor and student.

The RAID Dive Centre has confirmed certification on line through the RAID web site.

 

This Decompression Procedures Instructor certification is generic and the instructor may apply/teach this course where the following, but not limited to, prerequisites are met:

 

RAID Registered Rebreather which meets the relevant requirements

Certified as a Decompression Procedures Speciality Instructor

Has a Rebreather Speciality Instructor certification for the specific unit

The Decompression Procedures Instructor has a minimum 50 hours logged on the specific unit and this has been loaded/ logged in their personal Logbook on-line.
